Meet the Drexlers: A Firm & Family

The Drexler Law Firm is first and foremost a family business, and as such family values are important to us. To know the Drexler Law Firm, you have to know who we are as people. Our clients share their personal stories with us everyday, and today we want to share ours with you.

the-drexler-law-firm-familyOur firm first began with David Drexler. David grew up in the San Fernando Valley.  His parents ran the first Kosher deli in the Valley for over 40 years before they retired. While David possesses an unrivaled skill in eating deli, it was the experience of working in the deli and interacting with the customers that became David’s platform for engaging with people and learning how to help them with their problems. The deli is where he learned how to listen, which is a vital skill for any attorney. A corned beef sandwich or bowl of chicken soup, served up with a joke and a funny story can be the perfect entree to go with a side dish of sound advice and a solution to a problem.

David, a highly motivated, intellectual and ambitious young man, blasted through UCLA in three years, taking 20 units every quarter, including summer session, and graduating at the top of his class, Suma Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa with highest Political Science Departmental Honors.  He then went on to obtain his Masters Degree at Johns Hopkins University in International Law/International Relations before returning to Los Angeles to get his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School.

There was never any doubt as to what type of law David wanted to practice. From the outset it would be about fighting insurance companies and corporations on behalf of the injured victim. Fighting for the rights of the weak and oppressed — for the underdog — was a natural progression for David, the son of Holocaust survivors. When your Mother is the survivor of the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp and you never could bear hearing how all of your grandparents, aunts and uncles suffered and perished, you have an understanding and compassion for other victims of oppression and trauma. You have a burning need to fight for those who have had their rights ripped away and have suffered.

David has dedicated his 40+ year legal career to fighting Goliaths and winning justice for those who have suffered injury and loss due to the negligence and recklessness of responsible persons, insurance companies, corporations or governmental entities.

The Drexler Law Firm story continues with David’s son, Jonathan. He also grew up in the San Fernando Valley and every night at the family dinner table, he would listen to his father’s stories. He would hear about the everyday lives of people being mistreated or harmed through the misconduct of corporations, insurance companies and product manufacturers, and he would want to do something about it.

Years later, Jonathan received his degree in Communications with a minor in Psychology at the University of Arizona. Jonathan was drawn to the Psychology classes, earning almost a 4.0 in his minor.  For him, it was all about the people and still is to this day.  Jonathan’s skill set centralizes on understanding and empathizing with the client.  He forms a personal bond with each and every client that steps through the door, and believes that getting to know them on a personal level is the best possible way to understand their losses. It’s then that he’s able to convey those losses, persuasively, to the insurance adjusters, opposing lawyers, Mediators, Judges and Juries.
David and Jonathan started working together about 8 years ago.  Because it is a father-son practice they truly have a vested interest in every case that they work on.  Their employees have been with them for many years as well and are all a part of the Drexler Law Firm family.

We, at the Drexler Law Firm, guarantee to apply our superior skill-set and dedication to obtain the maximum possible recovery of fair compensation, and offer caring support for you throughout every step of the process — a promise from our family, to yours.
